Many consumers are unaware that even though they may have bought a newer home and it passed a home inspection their insulation level may be well below the recommended level. For south Florida the Department of Energy recommends an R-38 to stop all the heat from coming down through the ceiling. Most houses are lucky to have even half of that even the newer ones.
